Last night a GOP controlled Congress passed the Continuing Resolution bill which would provide funding for the government past the end of the Sept 30 fiscal year end. To pass it, Boehner invoked clauses which antagonized Democrats even more. Which is why now that the bill is in the Senate, it appears to have hit a dead end. As Goldman explains, today the bill will likely die, which means that with a one week recess coming up from the government next week, government is about to be well and truly shut down.

Poof made it very clear in today’s posting that O is not one of the good guys and will hang with the rest of the Bush cabal. I guess you didn’t read Poof today and didn’t know what I was referring to. Hopefully someone who knows more about this treasury and republic link will respond with more hopeful news.

The sheriff grants permission on a case-by-case basis only. When asked what, if any, repercussions he had gotten from the Feds, he quickly and confidently replied, “None whatsoever.”
He explained by saying, “They know they do not have jurisdiction in my county unless I grant it to them.”
Mattis clarified his position by saying the federal court had ruled the state of Wyoming is a sovereign state and the state constitution plainly states that a county sheriff is the top law enforcement official in the county.
Additionally, Sheriff Mattis contends that the U.S. Constitution, Article 1, Section 8, clearly defines the geographic territories where the federal government has jurisdiction. Amendment X, he said, states that “the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

I greet life’s opportunities with increasing confidence.

Renowned economist Stephen Roach, currently non-executive chairman of Morgan Stanley Asia, has gone a step further, calling for Wall Street to get behind what others have called a “Debt Jubilee” to forgive excess mortgage and credit card debt for some borrowers. The notion of a Debt Jubilee dates back to biblical Israel where debts were forgiven every 50 years or so. In an August appearance on CNBC, Roach said debt forgiveness would help consumers get through “the pain of deleveraging sooner rather than later.”

In late 2009 we released a feature-length grassroots documentary entitled, “For Liberty: How the Ron Paul R3volution Watered the Withered Tree of Liberty”. Since then, we’ve been inundated with positive feedback from people all over the world who have viewed the film, and were inspired by Ron Paul’s message of Freedom and Liberty. As independent filmmakers, we’ve been humbled by the response.
Soon after Ron Paul announced his new 2012 Presidential campaign on May 13th, 2011, we decided if we could shorten our original 120 minute film to just under 60 minutes, that it would make an excellent handout DVD to educate people about Ron Paul during his 2012 campaign.
