Could someone please take a few moments and explain to me why people are afraid of being under martial law, when we are already under martial law in this country? It is my understanding signing renewal martial law orders are what each incoming administration after each presidental election does almost immediately. I know I’ve read this somewhere.

“Martial law is the imposition of military rule by military authorities over designated regions on an emergency basis—usually only temporary—when the civilian government or civilian authorities fail to function effectively (e.g., maintain order and security, and provide essential services), when there are extensive riots and protests, or when the disobedience of the law becomes widespread. In most cases, military forces are deployed to quiet the crowds, to secure government buildings and key or sensitive locations, and to maintain order. Generally, military personnel replace civil authorities and perform some or all of their functions. The constitution could be suspended, and in full-scale martial law, the highest ranking military General would take over, or be installed, as the military governor or as head of the government, thus removing all power from the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of the federal government.”

Kari, I don’t think these people are understanding what you are asking. I also have repeatedly heard that we have been under martial law since the corporation took over, but I’m afraid I have not yet taken the time to look this up. However, the answer to your question is that if we have been under martial law all along, it is for underhanded evil puposes, yes, but not visible puposes (just another sneaky thing they’re doing to us). But, what people are afraid of is that they will use martial law in a more physical way like what BF said above.

We are under a on paper only Martial Law kinda like our Immigration and Securing the Borders Laws in the books only and Not Enforced.
At anytime you could have full blown Martial Law and it won’t be pretty, it never is….except the very few times that it was peaceful like in Portugal in 1974 and possibly in Poland.

I think the biggest thing we can see about the present marshall law is for the president to be able to write all these “executive orders”. Many say “Hey, that’s not constitutional”, guess what, in an executive order he can bypass the constitution and the congress. The media and politicians talk about the executive orders just like they are normal every day business, which it has become.
